RIH experts told about the possibility of cross-country cooperation in the field of healthcare digitalization

RIH employees and representatives of CIS specialized institutes and ministries of health discussed the main trends in digital health standardization and development of a unified terminological space.

On March 13, an introductory meeting of the expert group under the Designated Organization of Public Health and Healthcare Digital Transformation of the CIS member states in the field of "Healthcare Digital Transformation" was held, which addressed the issues of digital health standardization, building a unified terminological space based on cooperation experience between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus.

The meeting was attended by experts from the Center for Public Health and Reforms of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Medical Technologies, Informatization, Health Management and Economics of the Republic of Belarus, the National Research Center for Health Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Center for e-Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republican Center for Medical Statistics and Information of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Turkmenistan was represented by Ministry of Health experts, the Republic of Uzbekistan - experts of LLC "IT-MED" of the Ministry of Health.

In his speech, Kirill Sidorov, Head of the expert group in the field of "Healthcare Digital Transformation", Head of the Regulatory Service of NSI Federal Register of the Ministry of Health of Russia, noted that digital maturity means a high level of digital technologies operation, which can be used to systematize various processes, for example, to standardize data, generate electronic medical records and maintain electronic medical document management, to develop telemedicine, mobile healthcare programs, and also process big data to analyze the situation in healthcare sector.

All this improves the quality and accessibility of medical services and simplifies the work of healthcare professionals. An important aspect of digital maturity is the development of a unified terminological space in Russian. The Russian language is actively used in the CIS countries, so in order to facilitate interaction across the Commonwealth, it is important that healthcare policy makers and managers do not have communication problems due to differences in medical terminology. Unified terminology also facilitates big data processing when it comes to analytics for all CIS countries.
