Representatives of 17 countries participated in the «Healthy Society» Forum

"Healthy Society" Forum, which was held for the first time with official delegations’ participation from CIS countries, has completed its work in St. Petersburg. According to Forum results, about 800 people from 57 regions of Russia and 17 countries took part in the it: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Great Britain, Germany, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Luxembourg, Moldova, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Cyprus, USA, Serbia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, France, Switzerland, Nigeria. The Forum venue was visited by 8 foreign official delegations from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Republic of Belarus, Serbia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan.

For the first time the CIS Health Ministers’ Summit was held within the framework of the Forum, attended by: Minister of Health of Armenia Anahit Avanesyan, Minister of Health of Kazakhstan Azhar Giniyat, Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan Gulnara Baatyrova, Minister of Health of the Republic of Belarus Dmitry Pinevich, Minister of Health of Uzbekistan Amrillo Inoyatov.

President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the participants and guests of the "Healthy Society" Forum. Mikhail Murashko, Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, read out the greeting before the plenary session.

Among Russian officials, the Forum was attended by: Mikhail Murashko, Minister of Health of the Russian Federation; Galina Karelova, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation; Alexander Drozdenko, Governor of the Leningrad Region; Dmitry Kobitsky, Secretary General of the Council of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States; Melita Vujnovich, Representative of the World Health Organization in the Russian Federation; Alla Samoilova, Head of the Federal Service for Health care Supervision; Ilya Balanin, Chairman of the Federal Mandatory Health Insurance Fund and others.

Denis Manturov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, and Alexander Beglov, Governor of St. Petersburg, sent greetings to the participants.

The participants included vice-governors for social policy, regional ministers of health, representatives of NGOs and business, chief physicians, rectors and lecturers of universities, heads of Roszdravnadzor and the Federal MHI Fund, as well as experts from the Ministry of Health of Russia and subordinate organizations, including NMRC.

The plenary session with the participation of ministers and deputy ministers of the CIS countries was chaired by Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko. He noted the importance of the patient-centered approach in healthcare and the need for digital transformation of healthcare sector: "When we talk about the human orientation of healthcare system, in fact, we are talking about the block that accompanies an individual on his or her life course. Three key stages: forming health, preserving health and maintaining quality of life at different stages of the life course. Healthcare digital transformation is a priority for almost all countries speaking today. Among other things, emphasis is placed on primary health care, infrastructure, innovations and scientific developments introduction, keeping the market of medicines and quality of medical products available for patients".

The Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia Anahit Avanesyan expressed her gratitude for the Forum organization and for opportunity to meet and discuss topical challenges of healthcare and ways of addressing them: "Today more than ever we understand that the issues of public health, improvement of our countries’ population well-being require comprehensive cooperation and no country can address healthcare problems alone. That is why we appreciate the initiative to gather here, in the Northern Capital of Russia, and discuss the most important issues for us". In her speech Anahit Avanesyan presented the steps taken by the Government of the Republic of Armenia to improve the healthcare system, as well as the vision of healthcare systems development through international cooperation, particularly within the framework of CIS and EAEU.

Dmitry Pinevich, Minister of Health of the Republic of Belarus, said that the Forum's agenda and experts team were admirable. "We have a common base, and, indeed, within the framework of the Union State, we have actually identified all our joint steps within the EAEU, within the CIS. The wider the scope of our joint interaction, the stronger we are, the stronger we are resource-wise, including working out the most successful common steps".

Azhar Giniyat, Minister of Health of Kazakhstan: "We fully support the motto of the Forum "A space for cooperation in the name of health", because health care is a unique platform where the interests of all mankind coincide". Azhar Giniyat told about the priorities of healthcare system of the Republic, which are reflected in the national project "Healthy Nation".

Gulnara Baatyrova, Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic expressed gratitude for the Forum "Healthy Society" organization, which "can stimulate primary health care development and improve prevention of non-communicable diseases, which are the most priority areas in healthcare system of our countries".

Amrillo Inoyatov, Minister of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, emphasized that since its establishment, the CIS has been working to strengthen cooperation between the participants and highlighted the role of such cooperation in pandemic control: "We highly value Uzbek-Russian cooperation in the field of health care, and it is encouraging to note that this cooperation, especially in recent years, has taken on a multilateral character. Uzbekistan recognizes the importance of strengthening cooperation in health care, development of high technologies and pharmaceutical industry in the Commonwealth to ensure the citizens health".

Innovative developments of Russian companies were presented at the exhibition area of the Forum. Visitors could also get acquainted with the works of All-Russian photo contest finalists "Health professionals at workplace". The contest was organized by Russian Research Institute of Health.

In order to present the best practices and share experience, the participants of the "Healthy Society" Forum were given excursions to medical, educational and scientific centers, and visits to advanced pharmaceutical production facilities.
