Cooperation within the Commonwealth of Independent States

Cooperation within the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) is focused on strengthening national health systems and improving population health outcomes across member states. This collaboration supports the development of resilient, efficient and future-ready health systems through coordinated policy approaches, knowledge sharing, and the adoption of best practices, including digital and technological innovations.

Through this partnership, CIS countries enhance their capacity to implement effective health policies, modernize system management, and apply innovative solutions to address current and emerging public health challenges.

Areas of Work

The Institute’s activities within the CIS include:

  • Development of institutional and policy frameworks to support interstate cooperation in public health and digital health transformation
  • Establishment of platforms for knowledge sharing, and dissemination of best practices
  • Joint research and analytical work to inform decision-making and support health system strengthening
  • Introduction of solutions for basic innovative approaches and digital solutions to improve governance, efficiency, and quality of care
  • Capacity building and professional development in health system management, public health, and digitalization
  • Implementation of joint initiatives addressing communicable and non-communicable diseases, demographic trends, and broader public health priorities
