During the week, middle and senior managers, as well as specialists in healthcare management from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, aged 25 to 35, came for training program with RIH experts.
“I am extremely grateful to you that you found the opportunity to come and your supervisors found it necessary and possible to send you for a training program here. Another goal, no less important, is for you to get to know each other, make friends, exchange contacts, so that you can maintain these social ties that will be useful to you. Why? They say the worst thing a professional can do is stew in his own juice and reinvent the wheel that the neighbors invented long ago. You need to constantly communicate and exchange experience,” Olga Kobyakova, RIH Director, addressed the participants with a welcoming message.
Young healthcare leaders will learn how to organize processes in a medical institution, attend trainings to improve medical staff efficiency, and develop the mission and values of the organization. The main focus of the training is patient satisfaction with medical care – one of the most important healthcare efficiency indicators, which reflects how medical care, conditions and terms of its provision meets patients’ expectations.
In 2022, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation approved the methodology for assessing the population's satisfaction with medical care. The most important criteria include: comfort of staying in a medical organization, convenience of making an appointment, personnel attentiveness, waiting time for medical care provision, waiting times at the facility, and how a visit to the organization meets a patient's expectations.
“When patients are not satisfied with medical care, they do not trust the healthcare system. When they do not trust the healthcare system, they begin to seek advice anywhere but reliable sources,” emphasized Vladimir Vyskochkov, head of RIH Laboratory of Patient-Centered Healthcare.
RIH experts have developed the Standard of Medical Organization Management System aimed at improving patient satisfaction with medical care (STIMUL). The methodology is focused on improving the population satisfaction with medical care. The standard has already been implemented in medical organizations of Tula, Tomsk, Moscow and Murmansk regions, Primorsky Krai and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), where it has demonstrated effectiveness. Successful experience and solutions proposed by Russian experts can be used in medical organizations in other countries.
International School for Young Leaders in Healthcare ‘STIMUL’” was organized by RIH in partnership with Rossotrudnichestvo within the frames of the “New Generation” program. The training took place at the Permanent Office of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra in Moscow, one of the leading regions in the quality of life rankings, which assesses population overall satisfaction with the social environment and the place where they live.
